June 9, 201016 yr Here are the rules. 1. State your team. 2. What conference and what schools are now in the conference in your dream scenario (please try to keep it plausible...no basketball super conferences of UNC, Duke, Kansas, UK, UCLA or similar far-fetched ideas). 3. What conference and what schools are now in the conference in the scenario you think happens? 1. UK 2. SEC - The current 12 plus Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A & M, and Ga Tech. 3. SEC - The current 12 plus, Ga Tech, Clemson, FSU, and Miami. I'm very interested to hear from our fans of U of L/Cincy and similar schools (talking to you Swampie!)!
June 9, 201016 yr 1. UK 2. SEC- No expansion (only because the SEC is already tough. Won't happen though.) 3. SEC- The current 12 plus, Miami, FSU, Ga Tech, and Clemson.
June 9, 201016 yr 1. Miami and then UK. 2. SEC of Miami, FSU, Florida, Bama, UK, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Auburn, LSU, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, & Oklahoma. Kick Vandy out and let SC go with their natural rival to the ACC in Clemson. Grab the Big 12's two best teams and the 4 best programs in the ACC. Unrealistic but it's my dream scenario. 3. I think the SEC expands and gets FSU, GT and two other ACC schools out of Clemson, Virginia Tech and Miami.
June 9, 201016 yr I cheer for Ole Miss, and I hate thinking about expansion because it's Armageddon for us in football. If you add a Texas/Oklahoma type to the SEC West you can kiss us ever winning a division title out the window. If all the SEC adds were from the ACC and the SEC just sends UT and Vandy to the West, Ole Miss might still be able to pull off that lucky year once every 10 or 12 years. But beating Bama, LSU, and Auburn all in the same year is tough.

It looks like the Pac 10 will be getting the Big XII south.
June 10, 201016 yr I agree, but even if it lines up another way and Va Tech Florida State/Miami come to the SEC or all three you would have to send some east teams to the west to balance it out. And geographically we would have to take a UF or UGA or FSU type to balance out which wouldn't necessarily just like adding Texas/Oklahoma, but it would still put the same damper on us.
June 10, 201016 yr I'd almost rather UK go to the ACC if all these monsters are coming to the SEC. Would be a good fit for basketball and make UK more competitive in football. We'll get slaughtered week in and week out in the SEC.
June 10, 201016 yr 1. My team is the USF Bulls. 2. My dream conference would be the existing SEC with FSU, Miami, USF, and Ga Tech added. The state of Florida could be it's own 4 team division. I'd get to see the Cats at RayJay more often, too. 3. I think USF ends up in the ACC with WVU and possibly UCF and another school, replacing teams scalped by the SEC. However, they could easily end up in a new conference with UofL, Cincinnati, Kansas, K-State, Baylor, Iowa State, and a few other teams from C-USA or the other remaining Big East football schools. They could also drop back into C-USA. The same things that caused the Bulls to jump from obscurity to the Big East, surprising many people, could play a roll in the ensuing chaos now. However, it really doesn't matter what happens, as far as I'm concerned. I'll still be there on game day 4 hours before kickoff, slinging burgers, and partying like there is no tomorrow. Then I'll go watch my Bulls. Win, lose, or draw, I'm a USF alum and I'm Bulls fan. I'll be there rooting away, even if they end up in the Sun Belt.
June 10, 201016 yr That conference would be awesome to follow in football. I wouldn't even care about any other conference. Who ever would come out of that would stand up pretty well against anyone.

June 10, 201016 yr If it happens I see the two TN schools going to the west and all the new additions added to the East. I hope that would be best case scenario for us. UT football is on the way down and well Vandy is Vandy. But that leaves UK in a brutal position to become the bottom of the SEC in football. UK will struggle to compete with these new additions and taking Vandy away almost takes away a guaranteed win every year for the cats.
June 10, 201016 yr Author 1) Roll Tide 2) NC 3) NC So who would they be facing in conference to reach those NC's?
June 10, 201016 yr So who would they be facing in conference to reach those NC's? Miami owes Bama a beat down from way back in the day. I can dream can't I?
