I know plenty of what I am speaking of. Then answer this simple question, how does small"A" Beechwood win the Region? Why are Bellevue, Newport and Dayton not able to compete with those Tigers?

That is not the case and has never been the case. It helps if you know a little something about that of which you speak. Good years or bad years, the same three schools have opposed seeding for far more than the 36th District Tournament in baseball. There are other sports involved as well. The state has chosen to not classify sports such as volleyball, baseball, softball and soccer, which pits schools like Silver Grove in the exact same classification as Trinity, Henry Clay and Henderson County. Whether you want to admit it or not, numbers and "drawing power" (to use the politically correct phrase) make all the difference in the world in each of those sports mentioned. While I have never been a proponent of persecuting private schools, I am not naive enough to think there are not clear-cut advantages. Even more so it is as plain as the nose on anyone's face that larger schools have clear-cut advantages as well (which is the REAL issue that the KHSAA SHOULD spend some efforts on rather than harrassing private schools). Just because your opinion is that seeding is the way to go doesn't mean you are right. For those small schools with the power to give themselves opportunities that other small schools don't have, this IS the correct thing for them to do. Being classless and "running up scores" and the like certainly won't make the choice anymore palatable for either of the parties involved and I am grateful that the coaches involved have more class and more sense than to try something so childish. And by the way, IF there were seeding, it would only mean that 4 out of 36 games have some meaning, it would NOT change the other 88% of the regular season.

Well I still do not blame large schools or "schools that win more" for wanting to seed.....same as I would not blame small schools for not wanting to seed. Again it comes down to doing the job you are charged with and that should only be making sure you do what is best for those you represent............................

 

I do blame the KHSAA for not classifying all sports.................lets face it how in the world would a school the size of Silver Grove and St. Pat's compete on a yearly basis with 6A schools and yet that is what they are asked to do. And before yo u say "get better" the NCAA recognizes classes in all sports.I mean should you tell Thomas More to "get better" so they can compete with UK?????????

You are a reasonable debater-so I can take your viewpoint. For the sweet 16 in hoops and baseball and softball, they lump all teams together. But sometimes small schools can win. Shelby Valley this year in hoops won it all, and even Newport went downstate-what a thrill for them! To play in front of that crown is something those Wildcats will not soon forget.

 

The state does allow the all "A", in baseball, softball and basketball, and now it seems some aren't happy with that or it is not sanctioned or whatever-so I am at a loss as to what the small school folks want????:confused:

 

In 2009-2010 the baseball region was won by Beechwood an "A" size school, and the 9th Region basketball crown was won by Newport-a small school to be sure.

Yes the All A is an option in the middle of the season. but not as a real state/regional qualifier at the end of the year..................I think what most A folks would like is to break all sports up much as football (although I thought going to 6 classes was too much.............)

So is the 35th at TMC or is at Meinken? I've heard both.
