Andy Katz reporting Orton staying in Draft but not so sure on Bledsoe

Featured Replies

Andy Katz is a Big Blue Hater and would love for Coach Cal and our Cats to be down again! I don't give him alot of attenion unless it already been confirmed by ESPN BlueGrass Preps!

Go Big Blue!

We need Orton back more than we need Bledsoe back at this point...

I agree on that but I can see why he would keep his name in. The size and potential is there and that is mostly what the picks outside of the lottery is about.

We might lose a scholarship next year based on what I hear from my son. My son has had a Sociology class with Daniel this semester and has said he hasn't shown up for anything since the end of the NCAA Tournament. I realize that Daniel is in San Francisco training and getting ready for the Draft but from what my son tells me, there is a very good chance that he could fail the class and if thats the case for just one class, its the case for every class. He isn't doing the school work and won't have a valid excuse to make it up even if he wanted to. UK could lose a scholarship next year (although that probably won't be an issue) from what my son has told me.

UK would lose a scholarship if Orton dropped out of school. He did not technically "drop out" he has just stopped going to classes. If he fails out I think we still have a scholarship.

Thought he was doing them online? Can be very easily done... and if the sociology class was anything like what I took last semester you don't have to show up anyways.

Regardless, its not an automatic loss of scholarship. It just lowers the team's overall APR score. The score is what determines scholarships.

Even other posters are providing links to Wireman's site now huh?

I have a feeling Bledsoe will be back...been having it for about a week or two now. I wish Orton would come back, but he's gone.

I also heard that but from what my son has told me, that is not the case with this teacher and everything must be done inside the classroom. Rest assured, there is a very good chance he is failing.

For example, my son did tell me there is a little sign in sheet that goes around the class that you are supposed to sign to shwo that you are in class. Theres also little notes on it for each individual student letting you know if you have missed too much class, assignments, etc. From what my son tells me, there is a plethra of missing stuff that Orton just hasn't done and its all over the sheet for all to see...

Doesn't that violate every privacy code imaginable?

Right, I understand that even though I have never ever heard of a class doing something remotely close to this. But Orton just isn't the ordinary student in the classroom. I'm sure there are exceptions made for him, I've sure seen them made for plenty of other athletes (and bball players). Right or wrong... it happens.

I don't know UKs rules on that nor do I think my son does. If so then the teacher is at fault.
