Big Ben - Part III?

Featured Replies

My issue is not with the supposed victim. Its with an attorney throwing out an accusation in such a casual manner.

Gotcha. I agree. It isn't fair to Ben that he is being accused of something and can't defend himself from tha accuser b/c he really may not know the girl.

Okay, you lost me. Please expound on the race thing.

Chad 85 seems to think if it was him being accused of this he would be in serious trouble from the league. Jason Whitlock is probably working on a 10,000 word master piece. People are whispering that b/c he's white and a QB he's being looked at in a different light. The NFL hasn't made a ruling yet, but people are watching closely.

No doubt. But, to be fair, I think the commish has opened himself for this kind of scrutiny by setting the precedent to suspend players despite the absence of a charge or conviction.

Fair or not, I'd say there's at least a 50/50 chance Ben has to sit for a game or more.

I think he will give a 2 game suspension, but I think the players union will reduce it to one, just like they did with Brandon Marshall. ( and I believe he was charged...BM)

If the suspension comes down from Goodell, there'll be no appeal. Who you gonna appeal to? Goodell?

I'm sadly leaning towards the 2game suspension now as well. I just think all the talk that will take place from now until after the draft will perhaps solidify the fact that suspension is what the masses want, and the image of the league would be tainted if he served nothing.

I feel the same way, but the players union has enough power to get it reduced to one.

There are whispers that the players union is keeping the closest eye. Some players that aren't his color are making the most noise.

Toomer who is retired (I think) compared him to Pacman, I lost interest after that... Toomer says he should get 8 games.

I'd think it would have to do more with his position than his color. If McNabb or Campbell had something to say about it, then maybe I'd buy the race issue. As for the rest of the league "not his color", big deal.

I think we're on the same page. I'm not making it a race issue. The whisperers don't care about position. They're just whispering that if he was black it could be different. Everyone is in a holding patern for now.
