The Lakers would/will beat the Suns easily.

I've been skeptical of LA's chances of a repeat pretty much all season. Nothing to do with being beat up or tired...I'm just not sure this team has the mental makeup to do it. They seem to struggle for motivation, and that becomes even more difficult when you've just won a championship. I'm not sure who will beat them, but I don't think they'll repeat.

 

Cleveland over Chicago in 5

Orlando over Charlotte in 6

Atlanta over Milwaukee in 6

Boston over Miami in 6

 

LA over Oklahoma City in 4

Dallas over San Antonio in 6

Portland over Phoenix in 7

Denver over Utah in 6

 

 

That's my guess for the first round.

Just officially. He kind of won it about 4 games ago..... LeBron will regret not going after this title when he's finished playing I bet. I think you should always try to win the scoring title when you can. It would have been close, but some effort could have been made. As a fan I loved him sitting out though, no sense in risking injury.

 

 

 

I think they're the last team in the West the Lakers want to play. Steve Nash would abuse Fisher, Stoudemire would embarrass Bynum or Gasol when they were guarding him. I could definitely see a potential series between the two going to 7 games, since the Lakers are far from healthy.

 

But I still see the Lakers winning the West, and the Mavs beating the Suns in round 2. Maybe that's just because the Lakers are the team I would want the Cavs to play if they got to the Finals.:thumb:

 

I'd rather see LA play Phoenix than Portland, Dallas, Utah or Denver. I don't see where Phoenix would give them much trouble assuming the Lakers don't play like they did against Houston last year.

I don't know man, maybe its because Steve Nash is the best PG in the game right now and would be going against an old Methusela-esque Fisher. Then the Lakers frontline would have no answer for the way Amare's playing. They could stop Howard last year, but they had a healthy Bynum, and Howard didn't have someone to feed him the ball like Amare has in Nash.

 

Kobe's hurt is another reason. Oh and the fact that you have to score a ton of points to beat the Suns, and the Lakers defense hasn't exactly been lights out lately.

 

I'm not saying the Suns are the best team in the West but I think they would be an extremely tough matchup for the Lakers.

Gasol will run circles around Amare. He is the biggest fraud in the game of basketball.

Dude they won't even beat the 8 seed easily IMO. They'll win but there isn't one team in the West that they could sweep IMO, they just aren't that good right now because of age and health. They could still win it all, but easy is not the way I would describe their road to the Championship. Who could guard Amare on the Suns for LA? Not Gasol, remember how weak he was against KG and the Celtics a few years ago?

That's why I think LA would win the series. But, lets be honest Ron Artest and who ever the Suns trot out there is not a major advantage for the Lakers. Artest is horrible right now compared to what he used to be.

Like I said, I think they go out in round two to Dallas. I think just think they could have been a bad matchup for LA, while they are trying to bring Bynum back.

I agree. But that doesn't mean that they wouldn't make the series interesting. I'm sorry but I don't think the Lakers would have an easy time with anyone right now.
