He's made a living off dunking but if people can't stop it why not? Oh you mean...sort of like Dwight Howard?:sssh: I don't want to hear that Dwight has more offensive game because you can't say he does while taking away what Amare does. Amare can shoot out on the floor at least. And doesn't Howard have a higher percentage of his points from dunks than any player in the league? Doesn't he lead the league in dunks? And Amare still scores more...... Dwight's worst part of his game is on the offensive side of the ball. I love his game, and he's my favorite player, but even I can acknowledge that. What separates the two is a) Howard has the best FG% in the league, b) he's the best rebounder in the league, c) he's the best shot blocker in the league, and d) he doesn't have a superstar PG setting him up in great situations. How many of those league-leading dunks are off second chances that he creates himself with rebounds? I'd say a good portion.
April 15, 201016 yr Author 14 and 9 as an 18 year old rookie (in his 5th year of playing basketball) playing with Stephon Marbury says that he will probably put up good numbers after Nash is gone.............. It says he's a good, not spectacular player. Also, let's not act like Starbury wasn't a heck of a PG back in the day.

He still shoots a high percentage, 55%, but he has more variety to his game. Sure he dunks alot but it's the best part of his game, he should do it often. But, he has more to it than that was all I was saying. It's hypocritical to say that Amare is a limited offensive player without saying that Howard is anemic offensively. Neither of which is the case, but if that's how you're going to evaluate Amare it's the only fair way. Howard's the better player let's not even compare them. But, Amare is much better offensively and they can't really be compared either IMO. It says he's a good, not spectacular player. Also, let's not act like Starbury wasn't a heck of a PG back in the day. That was the end of Starbury being good or a PG. Selfishness was 2nd nature to him by then. And I'd say Amare is spectacular, my goodness he's an NBA All-Star. Not as good as Howard, or as good as KG or Duncan were but let's not act like he's not one of the top post players in the league. 23, 9 and 1 BPG isn't that bad for a Power Forward, even if his rebound and block numbers aren't as high as other players.

If he could develop his post up game, and add a 8-10 footer, he'd be the most dominate player in the league today. The chances of that happening are slim to none, because he is what he is. While I think LeBron and Durant will have the most dominant taken care of for the next decade, I do think Howard needs to add more to his game. If he wants to be able to be in the conversation with the All-Time greats at the position, that is. I don't ever see him being able to be Shaq-like dominant in the post though, so I don't know if he'd ever be able to pass LeBron or Durant who are changing the game out on the wings. JMO.
April 15, 201016 yr Why? Nash gives him the ball in a position where all he has to do is jump as high as he physically can and dunk. You take him away from Nash and his numbers are very average. Can you define average? I swear I've seen Amare hit jumpers a lot. A whole lot.
