I was a pretty good handicapper at Keeneland till they changed the surface. Now I'm terrible :irked:

Record opening-day crowd of 24,700+. The old record was from back in the 1970s.

I know the feeling. Seems like most times I go to the track, my exacta horses come in first and third, and my tri horses run 1-2-4. That's my luck for you.

And every 6-1 to 12-1 shot that I bet across finishes 4th. I obviously need a new system.

My grandfather would wait until the post parade and then bet on the horse that "voided" the most. A bit unscientific to be sure; but he was in line to be named to the Maryland State Racing Commission in the 1960s. That is, until the first Republican governor in years and years (the immortal Spiro Agnew) was elected to office.

Whew. Glad I didn't go. I can't deal with that many people no matter how many pretty girls are there to look at.

Final result, daughter down 10 and had lots of fun, I lost nothing and had no fun....ah to be young again.

Frankly, all three results can be taken as wins.

Mcpapa, on a side note, I heard Keith Downing's name being called over the speaker as one of the scholarship winners today. Is Transy where he is at now?

:thumb: That's definitely a win in my book.

Last I heard. My daughter heard the announcement also.
