MountainThunder Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Corbin came out and played inspired, stifling defense and is headed back to Rupp Arena.

4chs Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Corbin's ball movement was excellent tonight, thought that Travis Smith played a fantastic game for the Hounds.............. actually everyone played well. Congrats to North Laurel, they just seemed to be out of gas in the first half, maybe the big win over South Laurel took something out of them.

NL only shot around 25% or less in the first half. You are not going to compete with a team like Corbin shooting that poorly. But the Hounds defense had a big hand in that.

Corbin made it hard for them to get into the paint and North got impatient and settled for contested jump shots.

gold sunrise Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Congrats Corbin. You know I will be supporting you at state.:thumb:
basketballfan1 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Congrats to Redhounds. Great season here in the 13th Region. After losing what they did last year it is incredible they were able to do it again. Nice job by all. North Laurel didn't play well at all. Maybe they were just happy to beat South and get to the championship game. You never know how some teams will react in a situation like last night. The pre game introductions were awesome. Arena did a nice job. Tell me anywhere else that could hold I am guessing 5,000 people last night that comfortably. No parking issues, no seating issues. Great tournament.
Les Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 The pregame introductions were NL AD Jimmy Durham's idea. He had it planned from the outset. North Laurel High School did an awesome job as the host school and Durham should be comended for being a great Tournament manager.

After what I have seen, I stand corrected. There is some of the high school atmosphere missing, but I thought the facility and the tournament worked out very well, especially for a first year. IMHO, this should be the 13th region host from here on out. Well done. Durham and North Laurel worked thru the bugs of a first year event and pulled it off like a champ. GREAT JOB! :thumb:
FANOFTHE11th Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Congratulations to the Redhounds. I like ya'lls team. Good luck at Rupp!!!!!!
4chs Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Les, Do you have stats? I was wondering how close Travis Smith was to a triple-double last night? Corbin needs Smith, Manns, Taylor, Stewart, Freeman and Jones to continue their solid contributions to go along with Johnson and Wilson to have any shot at advancing at Rupp.
