I'm pretty sure every game Wright could be tossed but for some reason he catches a break from the refs...St.John could get a fouled called on him every trip he makes it down the floor, catches a break there!:irked:

 

I have to disagree about St. John fouling that much. He blocks a lot of shots, but most of them are clean, the fouls tend to come from him when he gets tired and commits silly fouls.

Corbin enjoys every season...........and will continue to do so. A small school like Corbin is like family and you should always enjoy your family.

 

I sure wish I could see the future as well as you, then I wouldn't have to get up and go to work in the morning.:lol:

Corbin should be a heavy favorite to go back to Rupp this year and if I were a Corbin fan I really would just enjoy this season more than worrying about Wright needing to be tossed and St. Johns fouls because I have seen the future of 13th region basketball and well...........................As I said if I were a Corbin fan , I would really enjoy this season:D

I have a pretty good idea what you might be seeing and you may be right, although a lot of times kids that are not all that in their middle school days turn out to be better high school players. I can think of a couple of recent kids(Madison Johnson & Josh Smith) at Corbin that did not start during some of their middle school careers at CMS, but ended up as 3 and 4 year starters when they got to high school. Hopefully the coaching staff can develop a couple of more that can be as successful as those two.

I think if Hooker comes back 100% then the region is Clay's to lose next year but as for 2012, 2013 I think it will be a 4 team battle with Clay, Harlan Co. Knox Central and South Laurel. I agree that you can never count out Corbin, they always find a way to be pretty good but I think they will drop off considerably and the same can be said for North Laurel. As far as Whitley goes, when was the last time their 8th grade or freshmen succes ever translated into varsity success?? Same with Jackson Co. They have a good group of sophomores along with the 8th grader Fox at point but they never seem to put it together at Jackson Co.

May be the reason you don't remember Madison Johnson, playing middle school ball at Corbin is because he palyed at Lynn Camp. He may of transfered in to Corbin, around the end of his 8th grade year. Opps he's not one of Corbin's own.

If you were as good as Madison...Would you play at Lynn Camp?

I can see Knox in 2012, but I don't know about 2013. The freshmen team wasn't that strong this year. Bell County will be in the mix the next two years.

Is the coach at Corbin Danny Wright by any chance?

I have been told that Jeffrey Canady will be back playing basketball next season for Knox Central. If he does return that will make that class very strong. Then add in the younger Barger kid and Knox Cent. will very much be in the mix.

You never know who is coming or going, but what they had this year was a step below the other three. They didn't seem to have a big sophomore class either, but Broughton and Barger are very good. Losing Canady must have had a big impact. He does look like a big-time football prospect from what I saw.

 

Jackson had some pretty good teams in the 90s. They didn't even compete in the freshmen tourney this year though.

You may need to check your facts. Madison went to Corbin through the 6th grade and was actually the 3rd or 4th player off the bench on the CMS 6th grade team. He transferred to Lynn Camp, who had hired his dad as middle school coach, then came back to Corbin starting his 8th grade year. He did almost end up at South Laurel, but I had better not get into that story as it might get me suspended from here.:sssh: Madison's little brother is going to be quite a player for the Hounds in a few years as well.
