Great game by the Rebels tonight. Played and they won the way they were supposed to and protected the ball pretty well tonight. I hope we can continue to play the same way on Friday night so we can bring home a championship.

From the looks of the score, Garrard Co. must have really struggled getting the ball in the basket or Boyle's D was on lock down tonight or maybe a combination of both. But 26 points in a boys HS game is really low.

Garrard has struggled offensively all season averaging only 49.3 ppg. The Lions graduated six seniors last season who averaged about 97% of their offense. Several new faces were plugged in and while they played incredibly hard, they just didn't score the ball very well.

I would hardly call it a great game from Boyle, Garrards talent level was very bad this year. This was the second time I watched us play them and we simply did what we should do. We played very hard on the defensive end and they struggle handling the ball and shooting the ball. I am looking forward to the Boyle vs Danville game on Friday!

Kevin Wheeler is the interim coach. Lee DeForest was at Garrard the last two seasons before leaving last summer to be an assistant at Christian County. Dave McDaniel, twice coach at Garrard and still a teacher in the system, was hired late this summer as the head coach but resigned after one game. Wheeler, who has been an assistant at a couple places in the area and a head coach (Metcalfe County, maybe) was promoted to interim head coach. I have no clue what the situation is heading into next season.

He may not be. He might have been given the head coaching position since the change happened so early in the year. I honestly haven't heard it mentioned all season. I'll check into it.

I've seen every game. The fact that we did what we were supposed to do against a team like Garrard County makes it a great game for us. It was also Rees MacShara's best game this year as well. The football players are all playing great basketball at the right time. Combined with the heady and steady play of the non football players makes us a better team than our record shows, IMO. IMO, a 62-26 win is always a great win for Boyle County. If we keep up the hard work on the defensive end, we should come away district champions on Friday night. It's always hard to beat a team 3 times, not to mention our biggest rival, at their home court. We will have our hands full and I hope we come out with our eyes on the prize.

The radio announcers were right. Danville's tough schedule has prepared them to be playing good basketball during tourney time. I expect it to be another spirited barn burner between two hated rivals. Especially with the recent events surrounding a certain football player........:walk::popcorn:

 

Both games were down to the wire games with a Duran Elmore shot being the last shot of both games.......:eek:

 

 

Crazy chants from both student sections, emotionally drained players at the end of the game and two hoarse coaches. Should be fun. I can't wait.:popcorn:
