Predictions for 9th region

Featured Replies

I think everyone is cautiously optimistic the team they support can pull it off, but everyone is a little nervous to put it in print. I am no exception, however I

do believe NCC can pull it off. They will have to shoot the ball better than they did against HHS and Boone, the first time they played them. I believe if they can get past HHS in the district they can get to the final.

Since the game against Ryle was canceled I am making this prediction without having first hand knowlege of them. I wish we could have played the game, just so my prediction was based on more than a hunch and hope.

So here it is NCC beats Boone in the final. I hope!

The boys play at 6:00pm and the girls play at 8:00pm.

That's odd but I like it.

I'll take Ryle.

By Wednesday night more than half the 9th Region teams will be done! Or should I say they will have been booted off the Regional island. BOK awaits the rest.

I'll take Ryle.

I think HHS did something very similar.

Yes they did.

Boone took down NDA in '06 when NDA was the "HUGE" favorite and 4 of Boone's top 7-8 were Frosh. Last year, Boone certainly was way under the radar. This season, no team is under the radar, IMO. I personally don't think Boone is that big of a favorite.

There are "10" (two on each team) key player's on the top 5 teams. If "any" one of those player's are injured/sick, in foul trouble, or does not play well...that particular team's chances decrease in a "very" big way.

Just like last year...playing on a college floor can cause a team headaches as well...this environment favors the "hot" team, best conditioned athletes, and the team with perimeter shooters that can adjust to shooting without a backdrop.

My heart is with Boone, but with how much they rely on Moss' 25+ pts and Sandlin being the lone ball-handler...I'm a bit concerned about having enough gas in the tank for two tough back-to-back games (assuming they will see a lot of press). Last year, Boone had two capable ball-handlers so they didn't see much press therefore back-court depth and conditioning weren't an issue.

This tournament has more parity than I've seen in 5-6yrs...and will be a treat.

And the favor was returned the following year!!!:D

When was the last time the favorite going into the Regionals won it?

I'm more concerned with the 33rd District Tourney and hopefully my Lady Raiders will do well. The 9th Region Tourney should be exciting, as always. I've never been big on favorites going to State, and the past will back me up. Providing the Lady Raiders get to the Region I like there chances as well as Highlands and NewCath.

Boone was the favorite at the beginning of that season, but not heading into the region...they had 10 or 11 losses at that point.

I can say it's been at least 7yrs...before that I would have to defer to someone else.

I agree with ya Shock...Ryle has a trap game before they have a rematch with Boone and many are already looking to Thursday's game.

I'm more nervous about tonight's Conner re-match than I am of a possible re-match with Boone on Thursday. If you get past tonight you get to the Region and that's when the real fun starts. Ryle handled Conner pretty well last game, especially in the second half. I just hope that they get out of the gate fast. They haven't been a great 1st quarter team this year. Most of the girls from Boone, Cooper, Ryle and Conner are friends so this should be an exciting week in the 33rd.

What districts make up the 9th region? How is it determined who plays who?

Are these the lucky teams playing in the girls 9th region next week? Bellevue, St Henry, Villa, Holy Cross, Notre Dame, NCC, Ryle and Boone

Those are the 8 teams. As a Ryle fan, I'm hoping we get a favorable draw on Sunday. I would prefer to play NCC in the finals rather than the first game! LOL!
