To clarify.....PIkeville NEVER won a regional title before Dave Thomas took over. Then it took him 4 years to do it. THey were only in the region finals 2 times before that. And they had the same youth program they have now. Dave THomas DID build this program from almost ground zero.....it had nothing to do with the youth program. When he took over, and i know this for a fact, they didn't even have uniforms. They played in white baseball pants and a sweatshirt with a P on the front. Now......I call that building a program.

How come in a couple years after that you Pikeville folk thought that he was clueless. Seems like he would have been just the right guy to have around. Which was he saint or sinner? Maybe your the one who should be getting most of the credit.

I never said he was clueless. Don't lump us all together. He was an excellent coach....did a good job here in baseball. He only stopped coaching becasue K. Trivette wanted someone to do baseball and basketball seperately. He had his choice which to keep coaching.

Just because some people get on here and bad mouth coaches, doesn't mean that everyone thinks like that.

Who in Pike County do you think will beat them besides Pikeville and Belfry?

1 and 2 are Pikeville and Belfry, but I wouldnt put East Ridge any higher than Pike Central and Shelby Valley, and then Phelps isn't far behind them. East Ridge isn't above anybody if you ask me...

Belfry is going to be very tough this year, after a disappointing year last year, i look for them to be very surprising.

Pike County teams have been traditionally strong over the last decade. Pikeville always has a solid program and Belfry is a sports school.
