Manual 68, Jeffersontown 64 -- Sean Samsel scored 19 and Miles Mitchell added 14 to lead the visiting Crimsons (17-8) over the Chargers (18-6). The game was tied with 30 seconds to go as the Chargers held the ball for the last shot, but missed in the closing seconds. In the first overtime, with a second left Desmond Dorsey hit a three to force the game into double overtime. In double over time the Chargers down by only two, missed a lay up and then missed a second chance shot. The Crimsons then throw it in quickly for a quick lay up to end the game and secure the win by four. Thomas Jackson led the Chargers in scoring with 23.

Manual is really playing well and putting it all together. Two Big road wins this week against two of the better teams in the state. Miles Mitchell was huge tonight scoring 19 points along with Samsel. (Box Score above is wrong) Niclolic only scored 3 but was huge on the defensive end of the floor by blocking and changing many of the chargers shots. The Crimsons are now a legit team that could possibly win the brutal 7th region.

Manual is putting things together at the right time. A big win over Seneca and now a win over J'town. Things continue to get interesting in the 7th region.

Agree, the 7th is a toss up.

Jtown appears to be falling apart at the wrong time. The Chargers lack leadership and Morrow is losing control of this team. Senior point guard Richard Kennedy sat on the bench for most of the second half after an altercation with Morrow. Morrow"s bully tactics are falling on deaf ears with this team. Congrats to Manual on another nice win. The 7th region tourney will be CRAZY!

Will the real Manual please stand up? The team that lost to Waggener or the team that beat Jtown?

Great win for the Crimsons, but until they show they can be more consistent, it's hard to see them in any other role except that of "spoiler" in the 7th. They'll likely ruin someone's party, but it's hard to see them running the table.

Only two teams in the 7th have been completely consistent, they are Ballard and Trinity. Yes, Manual is only one game above .500 in the 7th region, but has reeled off recent wins against Seneca, Jtown (on their court), and Iroquois.

Even if Manual is relegated to being a spoiler in the regionals, that's doing more than what most gurus said preseason. Before, the top teams would write in a win against Manual. Now, they're putting down that pencil and studying film on the Rams and preparing for a game instead. Do you think a district #2 seed like Ballard/Trinity really wants to face Manual in the first round right now?

Not knocking Manual at all. Manual is a VERY GOOD team. Manual would be the favorite to WIN probably 12-13 of the regions, but they have the misfortune of being in what is almost without a doubt the toughest region in the state, top to bottom. It wouldn't be a complete stunner to see Manual reach the Sweet 16, I'm just saying I think they aren't as consistent as some of the other top teams in the region. Haven't seen Trinity, Jtown, Eastern, Ballard losing to anything but top-tier teams this year...

As far as first round of the 7th region, I seriously doubt that there's going to be any gimmes... brutal region.

Eastern and Jtown have lost to less than top tiered teams. Only Trinity and Ballard are the consistent teams in the 7th. Then you have Manual, Jtown, and Eastern at the next tier and any one of those could pull it off. I think Seneca has fallen off and they beat Moore so Moore is a tad below with Seneca as well.

Its wide open in the 7th.

Your comment, "will the real Manual please stand up" made me think about what has transpired this year at Manual. Samsel went down early in the year and missed 9 or 10 games, which hurt the team chemistry and they lost a senior leader. I think what you are seeing is that Manual is now up to speed and the chemistry is much better since they have been playing as a complete unit over the last month. Samsel has settled down and is now playing as a true point guard by distributing the ball first and setting up his teamates. He is letting the game come to him and taking what the defense gives him. I think this team now believes in themselves and they think they can win when they step onto the floor.
