bballfamily had nice valid points. considering i am a "young adult", i have to say that the problems and obstacles that bballfamily said that we young kids do face are relatively close to what ALOT of kids go through on a daily basis.

oh and quit "assuming" that he was talking about your kids. If you use common sense, you can see that he is talking about a certain population of kids that go through struggles.

The points are all my own based on observing society over the years, while teaching and hiring people when I did some farming, mostly tobacco and cattle. My observations on my actual participation in the private world in addition to my teaching career. Some who work only for a government entity over the years lose touch with the private sector.

i am not espoousing any talking points - i work with these kids and families everyday - 210 days out the year.

He was obviously talking in generalities based on his experiences. If you really thought he was talking about "your" kids, you're being way too sensitive on the matter.

How many of your students fall into the categories I listed? And if you are teaching 210 days, are you at an alternative school for kids who do not fit into the general population? I know not all fit into the categories I listed, but for those that I know the percentage is very high. To deny what I listed is denying truth.
