I had the opportunity to be his coach in knothole. I say be his coach because that is what it was, not coach him. His natural ability to handle pitchers and call a game from behind the plate is special. I knew Sam had great things ahead of him and it wasnt because he was given anything. He worked his butt off on the field and off (in the classroom and how he presented himself when not in school or in uniform), one of the most polite young men that I have ever met. Good luck to Sammie during his Sr yr and more importantly during his time in College.
