Congrats to Emily Lape of Oldham County

Featured Replies

On 1/19/10, in an 85-49 win over Spencer County, Oldham County's Emily Lape scored a single-game school record 45 points, to go along with 17 rebounds, 10 assists, and 7 steals.

Congrats to the player, but people would call for heads if she would have gotten hurt.

Did she play 32 minutes?

:scared: Very nice game.

No. Not sure exactly of how many minutes she played, but Oldham plays a pretty deep rotation, and she still had 31 at the half, when the game was only a 10 or 12 point margin.

Spencer just didn't have an answer for her, and she wasn't missing...

According to my sources, she becomes just the third Oldham County Lady Colonel to score over 40 points in a game, joining two girls from the early 90s, Bethany Martin (41 points) and Kyra Elzy (40 points).

Congrats- pretty impressive with a triple double:taz:

Never understood the fear of a player getting hurt late in a game when they practice 3-4 times a week. Just as good a chance to get hurt in practice as in a game.

You have to worry about a cheap shot from a badly beaten team. That wont happen in a practice with your teamates.

I forgot to say congrats on an amazing outing....what is her ppg average?

I don't have the latest average from the coach, but through 14 games she was averaging just 6.9 ppg.

Lape struggled to adapt to the new coach's system early in the year and didn't play in some games, and only sparingly in others. But she averaged 12 ppg and nearly 8 rebounds as a junior, leading most publications to rank her as a top 5 player in the region in the pre-season, so this type of outburst isn't entirely a shock. In the last 7 or 8 games, Lape has been a constant scoring threat, including a 27 point game against Gallatin County, a 17 point game against North Oldham, 14 vs. Carroll County, 10 vs. South Oldham, etc.
