Walton Verona 50 Williamstown 48 (All A 8th Region Semi's)

Featured Replies

Ugly win for the Bearcats. They shot 18% in the first half and were 5-15 from the line. Were a little better in the 2nd half. Missed alot of close and easy shots and only made 2 three's in probably 10 or so attempts for the entire game. Trailed most of the game until Ponzer took over in the 4th quarter. Ponzer finished with 22 points, most of them on penetration and free throws. Walton did not utilize their height and depth advantage at all. Williamstown played hard and should be commended for their effort.

Congrats to WV and good luck in the final game!

Congrats to the Bearcats for advancing. Williamstown controlled the game for three and a half quarters. WV needs to come ready to play in order to beat Gallatin County tomorrow night. It will certainly take WV's best effort against GC.

Congrats to Coach Trame & WV players.

In talking to Coach Trame earlier this week, he said that the Bearcats were starting to come together. We'll have the game tomorrow night from Walton. Get there early. It is sure to be SRO.

WOW! Never would have believed that the score would be so close! WV better be prepared for GC Sat. night because I know they will be ready to kick some butt to get to Richmond next week! GO CATS!!!

Any chance Walton Verona was looking ahead to playing the feisty Warsaw Wildcats?

100% chance.

WV better play better tonight or they will be in for a long game. If they shot like this again it could be a 20 point game.

Congrads to the Bearcats and good job to Williamstown.

IMO, Walton has not had an inside game for the last 3-4 years. I'm not so sure that Walton has a coach on their staff that knows how to teach a player over 6'4'' so its hard to utilize their height. As for depth there is alot of young talent on that bench if given the chance to be productive.

This was a very ugly game for Walton as stated before. I got their late in the first quarter and from then until late in the 4th they were just not playing good ball. In the first half they just could not get a shot to fall and the free throws shooting was just flat out awful in the first half. Looked like Williamstown was going to pull it off until Ponzer took over. Took a couple dumb shots in my opinion but they went in so I cant say anything. Good game WV and better play better tonight.
