She left and the team got worse. To me that hardly means there was any lasting impact to the overall program, which is what "setting the program back" would imply. Ryle girls weren't good when she was there and they were worse with her gone.

 

Sorry to offend. Wrong choice of words. Agree their record was not as good as it could have been if she stayed.

Putting all kidding aside, it is nice to see a spirited debate for Girls basketball on BGP's. The girls side has been dead with the exception of Bracken/St Pat stuff.

 

It would however be nice to talk about the teams and their strengths and weaknesses. Who can beat Boone and how, for instance. How do you contain Tibbs? Who are the strong newcomers? etc. If you post a prediction thread almost no one weighs in. Lot of time wasted on transfers and the past that quite frankly will not change or end.

 

These girls play hard, let's promote them, critic the teams and look to the Regionals that are not that far away. Either way it is good to see a thread with some life.

 

Boone will be very hard to beat. They have a solid point guard, good shooters and a strong inside game. Highlands has the potential to play with them, but has to contain their outside shooting. NCC can contain their guards, but will need help defending Davis and Moss.

 

You can't stop Tibbs. She is too big and athletic. You have to take the Marovich (sp) approach, let her get hers and stop everyone else.

 

Top up and coming players, I would start with Fischer from Connor. Playing very well this year. I didn't hear a whole lot about her last year, but seems to be playing extremely well right now. Theim and Bartels from NCC seem to be picking up their play also. I know these girls are not freshmen or sophs, but we are starting to hear things from them.
