They based their pitching selections on their batting averages? Rather odd criteria to use for a pitcher. :lol:

Statistically, its easy. Intangibles make this one tough.

I'm sure your leaning towards Davey re: the intangibles issue, but Larkin gets a nice checkmark in that category also as he was indeed the leader of that team for several years.

Their older brother (Mike, I think) hit a HR off me once in high school baseball. Obviously, I have hated the entire family ever since. I feel it's justified.

Again, the poll is strictly based on offense by position. Pitching stats have nothing to do with the Reds poll.

 

If it were simply best 9 then Rijo is definitely in the conversation.
