I'm not saying Shelby would have won, but the Rockets' stock drops dramatically if Beckley isn't there. I see the Rockets several times every year.

 

They become an above-average team only without him... He isn't a top scorer or even a top defender - but he's a masterful PG, and the only PG they have who completely controls the ball and the team on offense. He's the master conductor that brings the Shelby orchestra to life.

 

Shelby looked lost last year when Beckley was off the floor...it appears that they may have the same problem this year.

All of this said, I think some of the Flyer fans are underestimating their own team. The FC folks may not have been expecting much due to graduation, but the fact is that the 13-4 Flyers have acquitted themselves very well. The 9 point loss to Jtown was very impressive. Yet to be seen is how they do against the meat of their 11th region schedule - Scott County, Lafayette, and Tates Creek - plus a meeting against GRC, but the Flyers are a better than "middle of the road" 11th region team IMO.

Good post. I would agree, if Beckley starts SC's offense then he was definitely a missing ingredient for them.

He had a temperature over 100. Didnt even make the trip.
