I disagree with 6. I know the count is supposed to be suspended but if the player posting is in for two seconds, catches it, dribbles one way, then the next, pump fakes, and then shoots i seriously hope the official starts the count back up on the the second dribble...or even the fake. thoughts

By rule if you are touching any part of the lane boundary you are in the lane.

I guess it comes down to what the official rules as making a move to the basketball for a score. I agree with the count being suspended on a move to the basket.

I've seen players get a 3 sec for holding the ball or pump faking for a period of time. I don't think it has to be passed back out. The player has 3 secs to make a bball move.

If he's making any move to score , including pump faking, he should not be penalized. As soon as its obvious he's not going to shoot he gets nailed. There is nothing in the rulebook about having 3 seconds to make a basketball move.
