If the 3 seconds occurred after the A inbounding player had been handed the ball by the ref, then yes.

I protest your grading of my #6 answer. Your example included the fact that he did end up shooting the ball, so I took that into consideration in my answer that he would get (a new) 3 seconds to shoot. I am going to give myself 5 of 6, which is probably good enough to put me on the floor of most high school games.

 

If you're saying he would get a new 3 after he shoots (and I assume) then rebounds his missed shot, OK.

Yeah it does happen. The funny thing was, that the ref that called it was the one that was on the baseline with the inbounder. Should have been counting the 5 secs for the inbound violation.

If the ball is still being taken out of bounds and a foul is called against the team inbounding then free throws are awarded if the team is in the penalty. If a foul is called on the offensive team while in possession of the ball then no free throws are awarded. You made the commit that he should of been counting 5 so I assumed the foul was committed before the ball was inbounded. Maybe I assumed wrong.
