The radio service out of New York kept referring to them as the No. 2 ranked team so that is where I got my info, with so many rankings these days it is hard to keep up with all of them. Regardless if #2 or 14 a solid win for South Laurel. I still think this South team is going to be very good and they are beginning to show signs of it. Wright has made a few adjustments and the new kids are starting to mesh and the results are carrying over on the floor.

Matt Watkins from South Laurel won the Dunk Contest and Matt Gilbert and Eric Wright teamed up to win the 3 point contest as well. Pretty good start before the tournament.

Not sure what he is listed as but I would guess him to be somewhere around the 5'9 - 5'10 mark. He has unreal leaping ability.

I agree that it's a very good win for South and things won't get any easier today in their second round game. South Laurel, unfortunately:lol:, has a lot of upside and will probably be the team to beat in the 13th region when all is said and done.

How tall is he now?

 

Hasn't grown much, but can still jump out of the gym. I would say about 5'10" is a good estimate.

Watkins has hops. The Cards are playing better than anyone in the 13th right now.

Russ Chadwell from Clay Co.(late 80s) was only about 5'10" too and he could SKY. I wonder if anyone who has seen both could compare their jumping ability.
