I really wish that those responsible, at each school, would call in their player's statistics every week. This morning's Cincinnati Enquirer listed about half of the Schools in Northern Kentucky.

I can still remember 33 plus years ago looking forward to Tuesday mornings when you could see your name in the paper. I'm sure today's players look just as forward to seeing their names, as well.

It would be nice but doubtful it will ever have meaningful data again for all schools.

Ironically, its a heckuva lot easier to accumlate and distribute the stats today than it was back when I was thinner, faster, and better looking.

I think when to Kentucky Post went to it's grave is when the reporting started to go away. I do like the 1 page a day dedicated to NKY sports, but would like to see more.

Does it matter who the paper is if no one calls the stats in?

In today's " information age" it is a shame not more is being done. Looking up your team's stats online is great ,but ,seeing your name in the paper is " priceless"!

Of course, not many people in general read an actual newspaper anymore and even less teenagers do.

 

With that, I do remember when I was listed in the stats and they called me "Mike" which is not my first name. Didn't matter though. I was in there.

There are a lot of baskets made, fouls committed, steals and turnovers on any given night to track. Tons of information.

 

Colleges do a great job of recording details of games but not likely in High School.

I totally agree. In this electronic age, it cannot be that difficult to get stats reported to the paper each week. Designate somone on your staff to do this. It is great PR for the school and most importantly great PR for the players.

The other side of this issue is......I can remember a school who reported exagerated stats for certain players. Not too long ago. It got ridiculous.

Also, a school that did not like reporting stats because they did not want other schools to use it for scouting.
