Elizabethtown 44 Highlands 41

Per KHSAA scoreboard. Any details?

From the Lexington Herald Dispatch:

No. 9 Elizabethtown 44, Highlands 41: Natalie Greenwell and Kaylyn Cecil scored 14 points apiece, and the Panthers held off the Bluebirds to make the quarterfinals.

Adelaide Luckett added 10 points and 12 rebounds for E-town, who will take on Mercy Monday night.

Bekah Towles led the Bluebirds with 14 points, 11 rebounds and three assists.

Elizabethtown 13 8 4 19 44

Highlands 9 16 12 4 41

Republic Bank Holiday Classic

Elizabethtown (8-0) -- Luckett 10, Cecil 14, Hart 4, Greenwell 14, Bowling 2.

Highlands (3-2) -- Schaefer 6, Cutter 5, Allen 7, Conner 9, Towles 14.

Am I reading the boxscore correctly, that HHS had a 12 point lead going into the final quarter and lost. It says E-Town held off the Birds but yet they had a 12 point lead? Depth is and will be a major issue for this team as the year progresses.

I can assure you of one thing. Your assumption about depth being the reason for the loss yesterday is absolutely wrong. Depth had absolutely nothing to do with the loss yesterday. You obviously weren't at the game. This may have been the most deceptive box score in the history of KY girls high school basketball.

I wasn't at the game, but I'm curious. Please explain how it was deceptive.

It is pretty obvious that I was not at the game, thus my questions about the boxscore. I assumed that perhaps the Ladybirds ran out of gas as it appeared that they had a 12 point lead entering the fourth quarter and lost it. Please elaborate on the deceptiveness of the boxscore, I am curious to know.
