He has been in the line up since the start of the preseason scrimmages. IMO, Corbin allowed South back in the game due to not putting the ball in Wilson's hands during the 3rd qtr. and seemed to be determined to keep it out of Wilsons hands for a long period of time. Corbin turned it over repeatedly during that late 3rd- early 4th qtr meltdown. I dont believe Stewart or Jones got in at all. It appears that 4 or 5 players are competing for 1 or 2 positions therefore minutes are going to be very limited to those 4 or 5 players. :confused:

 

Had to be Corbin allowing South back in the game, couldnt have had anything to do with the defensive adjustment after halftime. I think the reason Wilson was so quiet was more from the clamps that Khan and Sanders applied in the second half on him, I think Wilson was enjoying it so much that he gave Sanders a little love tap while getting up after the jump ball call in the 4th.

Bottom line is Corbin won this round and they are the better team right now but its not nearly by as much as you want to believe. Maybe I will be proven wrong down the road as I think these two will square off 3 more times, we will just have to see.

Both teams have solid players and I'm sure both teams will be playing for the region title in the end.

Both teams have a lot of upside. I expect close games whenever these two teams play the rest of the season.

I think the Gilbert kid from South was the best player on their team. JMO

The Hounds, would be telling a little different tell.:sssh: I would be worried about how you let a team get back in a game leading by 16 points and seeming to be on your way to a blow out in stead of planning 3 more victories. Good lucky to the Hounds and Cards, in their future games.

I agree South could have won this game. Karr had a good look on one of his last two attempts. South's Man to Man defense really got after the Hounds and that seemed to turn the tide of the game. Makes you wonder how the outcome may have been different if they had played Man D the whole game? Sanders was very impressive as was Khan and Karr off the bench for the Cards. The intensity level really rises when these substitutes enter the game. I thought Sizemore played well off the bench for Corbin as well. He made two big 3's and several nice interior passes as well. Another Classic in this series between two good high school programs. Hope both teams continue to improve throughout the season.

South Laurel played man? I don't think I've ever seen them play anything other than that 2-3 zone. They played it quite well, I might add...

No doubt they would be in the top 6 or 7, possibly Sanders as well. These two teams are very close talent wise.

I don't think playing at South mattered much. Corbin had a bigger crowd than South and the Redhounds were shooting bonus from the charity stripe early in both the first and second half.

With that said, it doesn't matter, Corbin is the better team until South can knock them off, but if you can't see just how close these teams are and how much upside these teams both have this season, then you're blind.

Both Pietrowski and Wright do a great job of coaching and I expect whenever these teams meet, the games will be close throughout the rest of the season.:thumb:
