Mason County 70 Scott 67

Featured Replies

Mason County trails by more than 10 early and was down eight at the half. Mason outscored Scott 18 to 12 in the third to pull within two. The fourth qtr was nic and tuck with Mason going ahead on two Keller Menke FT with a couple of minutes left and Mason hit enough FT at the end to hang on to the win. This was a great game by both teams. Mason best effort under Coach Butcher and biggest win. Keller Menke finished with 22 pts and Lauren Tibbs had a game high 34 pts. She is a beast and a Division 1 level player.

Sounds like a great game. Can't wait to see Tibbs in action. Nice effort from both sides and congrats Mason Cty on the win.

What a great game. Mason Co trailed by 8 at the half.

Huge Second half for K. Smith and K. Menke and B. Queen, good play off the bench by Butler and Lykins.

Huge win for Coach B.

3-0 and next Saturday vs Fleming Co.

Mason Co is a team to watch out for come March.

It was a great game. Scott played very well but had some key mistakes down the stretch at crunch time. There were times they did not exploit the double team with good ball reversal. There were also key times where Tibbs did not touch the ball when she needed to. They really did not have an answer for her inside. I really like how Mason got the ball in Keller Menke's hands at key times and she made the most of it.

Papabear, who are the staring 5 this year for Scott. I am thinking Tibbs, Bamforth, Stinson and Jackson. But I am not sure who the 5th player is this year?

Against Mason Sarah Kuhse started as the fifth player.

Sounds like the Lady Royals are turning things around nicely. Started last season 0-9 (with losses to Bracken County and Scott) and didn't get win #3 until January.

Does anyone get the impression that Scott may be a little overrated. The Tibbs girls is a legitimate division 1 player but the guard play seems very sub-average. It is very hard for one player to carry a team, but it is almost impossible for that one player to be a post player and carry the team.

The loss of Benzinger was a huge loss for Scott, if you ask me. She was so focused and would drive the ball through a brick wall if she had to.
