Somerset 51 Breathitt County 33

Congratulations Briar Jumpers!! Region champs!!

The Bunnies are bad. Are they a team of destiny?

Jumpers D came to play in the 2nd half. Bobcats scored on their first second half possession to take a 33-30 lead and then Jumper D held them scoreless the rest of the way.

Breathitt just never really had an answer for Somerset's offense tonight.

What a game, first half just went back and forth. Ref's let them play tonight, probably too much. Lot of late hits went unflagged and then in the end their were several PF's called.

Great Win Jumpers!!!! Enjoy and back to work Sunday!

Congrats on the win Briar Jumpers! Somerset seemed to have a lot more left in the tank in the 2nd half After Breathitt took the lead Somerset seemed to dig in like they have all year and really came out fighting. Somerset's offensive line simply manhandled the Bobcat defense. I think the Breathitt was only able to stop Somerset one time before the last 4 minutes of the game when the Briar Jumpers were trying to run the clock out with a 3 score lead. It seemed like Somerset had a lot more left in the tank in the 4th quarter than Breathitt did. I think the game really turned when Holcomb chose to punt on 4th and 1 from around his own 40 yard line down 37-33. With Somerset's offense playing like it was they pretty much did the Bobcats in.

I agree 100%, I was sitting with a Asst Coach from Mason and we both thought they would fake it or just outright go for it.

Oh well!!! Jumpers advance to one more week! :bunny:

Great win for the speedy Jumpers team.

Man, the first half was rough. I was wore out just watching it....Jumper D played great in the second half. Sheldon Clark next Friday, boys to enjoy today and get back to work.

Congratulations to Somerset. I thought this would be a competitive, high-scoring affair.

Breathitt got hit hard with injuries this year and it took away some of their depth. Consequently, this wasn't the first time they wore down later in the game and lost. It happens. I'm proud of the way this team rebounded from a 1-5 start to make a serious run at a region title.
