Again, I don't know what's hard to understand about this. I didn't say he wasn't significant. He's very significant. Just not as much as he was before Lebron came into the league. How can anyone not agree with that is beyond me.

Kobe is averaging right at 5 rebounds and 5 assists per game for his career. Lebron is averging right at 7 and 7. I don't think Kobe gets near enough credit for his rebounding and passing game.

 

To be accurate, Kobe is 4.6 on rebounding and 4.5 on assists per http://www.nba.com.

 

Lebron is 7.0 on rebounding and 6.7 on assists.

 

For this season, Kobe is 5.2 on rebounding and a woeful 2.7 on assists.

Lebron is 7.2 on rebounding and 7.6 on assists.

In no way did I mean that Kobe was less significant than Lebron. I meant exactly what I put. He's a less significant entity in the NBA, simply because of Lebron. Hey, miscommunication happens. Lebron does have the edge on rebounds and assists. The problem is he'd rather be getting a rebound or assist when the game's on the line instead of taking the big shot. Kobe lives to take over the game at the end. There's the difference between Kobe and everyone else in the league, imo.

Kobe's numbers are going to continue to go down this year as well when Gasol comes back. There just simply isn't that many rebounds and assists to be had on that team.
