Spindoc, I'm terribly sorry for you and your family's loss. If there is an consolation, know that she is with God, and in a far better place than any of us. You and your family are in my thoughts in prayers.

When tragedies such as this occur, I can't help but think of a conversation that I had with my mother & grandmother when I was a kid. My uncle was suffering from terminal cancer and we were all coping with it. During our conversation (which involved me listening) we talked about how hard he was fighting. My grandmother said that maybe he didn't want to fight anymore so that he could spend eternal life with the Lord.

 

I couldn't help but cry at the table. As a kid, I still held out hope that my Uncle was going to overcome the illness. My grandmother's strength & confidence in the Lord was amazing and comforting.

Spindoc's mom passed away this evening. She is in Heaven, and I know Doc is comforted by that fact. Let's continue to remember Doc and his family as they mourn the loss of their mother, wife, grandmother.
