January 5, 201016 yr Surprised this movie thread hasn't gotten more hits. I just saw it last night, really good movie. I'm shocked at how I haven't about this watching as many Ravens games that are on my regional coverage. I figured they would mention it on air. Bullock does a good job acting this role IMO, all the cast of characters did a great job actually. CBS mentioned it a few times when the Bengals and Ravens played.

January 5, 201016 yr Author I did see this over the Christmas break finally, forgot about the thread. Definitely a great movie! Heard that Michael Oher has the potential to be considered for Rookie of the Year.
January 5, 201016 yr I am always intrigued by stories that claim to be "based on a true story" and love to dig around the internet to find out the "actual" true story. Amazing sometimes how stretched the truth can sometimes become with these movies. With this story, however, it was fairly close to actual events. They changed the age of the Tuohy's son to make him much younger (and I'm supposing "cuter") in the movie and made it seem as though Michael didn't have a clue about football before going to the Tuohy's school (he had already been playing football for some time), but the story was essentially true. I thought it was a pretty decent movie, though it didn't have near as much actual football scenes as I would have thought and even those were somewhat hokey at times, but overall it was worthwhile seeing (despite the fact that I am not a Sandra Bullock fan in the slightest).

Also, Collins graduted the same time as Oher and cheered while he played. The main thing I was shocked at the most was how many of the coaches in the movie either got fired or left that portrayed themselvs at the University, ie; Saban promoting LSU gear while he is currently at Alabama, etc. Not sure when Fulmer got fired in relation to the movie being made either.

January 7, 201016 yr I wasn't aware of this real life football story. Guess the wife and I will have to get out to the movies to see it and not wait for the DVD. Sounds like a good one. Too bad there's not more football scenes.

The kid ran his mouth over and over and Michael told him he was going to put him on the bus and send him home, and he pushed him out of bounds over the fence towards the bus.
