November 4, 200916 yr I thought that was probably the one you were thinking of. I have seen it before as well. Never noticed the racks in the back ground, good catch. It seems mountain lions are a popular critter for the tall tales. It's either "I seen a black panther" or someone spots a mountain lion in a state or area they don't exist. They always come with a photo that I like to call a "Big Foot Pic". Blurry as heck and you can never make out what the critter really is. Mountain lions do exist in Ky. I have seen 3 myself. There were 2 sightings in Carroll Co. last week. I haven't seen a bigfoot yet or a UFO or even a black panther. Muleys aren't rare in a taxidermy shop.

There may very well be a few in living in the state but they are likely ones that someone had in captivity and they escaped/were let go.

Conservation officers say that same thing and they also say your not allowed to shoot them either. Hmmm. Just how many people in Ky. have mountain lions for pets?

Just how many people in Ky. have mountain lions for pets? Come to Henderson and I can show you two. The guy runs a pay lake and the first time I fished there I didn't know he had them. Just about sun down they start screaming. Scared the crap out of me. I would say more people have them as pets as there are true sights in the wild.

It was declawed and defanged. It stayed in the house with him and was as tame as a house cat. Seems like it would have a hard time surviving in the wild. Wonder where the two in Henderson came from? Probably the ones that escaped or were turned loose were kept illegally or they would have reported them missing. Or maybe they did but none were reported around here and there is at least one in Carroll County. Me, my son and two other people were at a pulloff talking one day in 1997 when a big cat ran across an open hillside right in front of us. We all had no doubt what we had seen. Last year I took one of my employees to hang a tree stand. We both seen a mountain lion in an open field. It was about 1/2 mile from where we had seen one before. It was croutched down as if to pounce.When it saw us it jumped and did a 180 and took off. It was huge. My friend took his stand home back home with him and said no way am I walking through the woods here in the dark. I had a good laugh, he's been after me to take him there for years. In 1988 my dad and I saw one on Mt. Parkway just as you turn off I64. It was only 20 yards from the interstate. So what is the life span of one of these cats?

I don't know where he got his but he also has a couple of wolves in a pen. The dude is a little off so no telling. I would guess they wouldn't be that hard to get. I also wouldn't rule out cats migrating from Florida up this far. There have been cases where cats were found as far up as Chicago that were most closely linked to the breed that comes from Florida. Life span would probalby be 8-10 years maybe longer. Mountian lions a very closely related to house cats so I would guess it would be close to the same. That said my grandparents had a tabby cat that lived for 19 years.
