No Taylor will not play in the game he is only playing varsity.

Cooper is the clear favorite but Beechwood seems to get better every week. The Beechwood defense was excellent against New Cath last week and they will need to be even better to have a chance against Cooper.

In all reality if you were to base this game on the fact that Cooper is a 6A school and Beechwood is a 1A school you would clearly assume Cooper will win big. IMO Beechwood has a tradition of knowing how to put a "W" in the win column so I'm going with the small school in this one. It will be a good game overall but I see it as Beechwood by 6.

It is all about Tyler Morris. Yes, Cooper has quite a few good players. But if Beechwood can stop Tyler Morris running the ball, they will have a chance. The first game Beechwood was in good position to stop Cooper but Morris always came up with the big play Cooper needed to keep the drive going.

The scary part with Morris is he throws the ball as good (acurate) as he runs it. Against Beechwood Cooper didn't have to throw much as they were able to run. I haven't watched Beechwood other than the Cooper game. Beechwood caught nearly every pass, including a couple of "tipped" passes off of defenders, one resulting in a TD. My question is, do they normally throw this well or was this out of the norm? The Cooper "D" got pressure in the second half when they made some adjustments at halftime and the passing game slowed down, especially in the 4th quarter. Beechwood played very well the last game, can they repeat the performance?

BW has the best Frosh staff around. They scouted Cooper and they found something. You can also bet they will not do exactly the same things as they did a couple of weeks ago. The BW staff has taken several 7th and 8th graders at "key" positions and have made them competitive. Win or lose Hats-off fellas!

This is the championship game in the small schools freshman league. Cooper is undefeated and has only been challenged twice - Newport Central Catholic and Beechwood. In the NCC game, Cooper pulled away in the second half for a convincing win. The regular season final between Cooper and Beechwood was 28-20. This should be a very good freshman game to watch with several of the best freshman players in N. Ky. in action.

What kind of shape is Cooper's field in? If it is a muddy mess and the rain keeps coming, don't be surprised if they move the game to Beechwood's turf.

It is supposed to be sunny half of today and all day tomorrow. The field won't be great but I don't believe it will be moved regardless. The Cooper kids have played thier best games on their home grass. If it was earlier in the season it may have been moved to preserve the field but our varsity has their last game Friday so that won't be an issue. I believe the game is at 6 O'clock. I think the tigers pull this one out because of #4 and #35. I have also heard rumors of a 7th grader by the name of "Phil the Drill" that gets playing time..... any truth to that?
