Mustang Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Mustangs had hoped for better - Beechwood dominant tonight. Too much Matt Rigdon. Too much Joe Colosimo. Too much Cameron Vocke. Too much Corey Schuler. Too big and powerful a line. Too much Beechwood. Beechwood recovers a Brossart fumble and then run it in for a touchdown within the first minute of the game and it was all downhill from there. Brossart will have to patch up from this one and direct our attentions towards the Dayton Greendevils, big winners over Walton-Verona. Dayton and Brossart will square off for a playoff berth next Saturday night at Newport Stadium.
Einstein70 Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Tough loss tonight for the Mustangs. They still have a ways to go befor they can compete with a school like Beechwood.
Voice of Reason Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 This game was a display of Beechwood's speed. Rigdon was explosive tonight running the ball. I would guess 5 carries for 150 yards and two TD's. Colosimo probably 150 yards also on 10 carries. Schuler took a kickoff 80 yards for a TD and had an 80 pass reception for a TD. But the play that showed the speed Beechwood has this year was on Brosart's best play of the night. Short yardage situation and Bowman found a seem over right tackle. He was at full speed, in the clear and 10 yards ahead of everyone. He appeared headed for a sure TD until 3 Beechwood players all ran him down at about the 15 yard line. That was some speed catching him and it wasn't one - it was 3 different players all caught up to him at the same time and team tackled him. Bowman is definitely Brossart's best player. A tough hard runner. There were several pad rattling hits tonight he was involved in. Brossart needs to get the ball to him more. Brossart is getting there. Keep working hard because it is going in the right direction for sure.
snakesnot_2000 Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Beechwood seems to have found its groove.
gchs_uk9 Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Beechwood seems to have found its groove. They romp through this district every season. It seems like every season they play the big boys early, take a few lumps, right the ship with easy wins in district to gain confidence and get healthy, then roll through the playoffs.
Voice of Reason Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Beechwood seems to have found its groove. The next two weeks will tell. Beechwood has made adjustments on defense and they are looking much better on that side of the ball. The passing game seems to be getting a little better. The next two weeks will show how much better Beechwood is. Bellevue at Bellevue and then New Cath at home.
CHUCKBKY Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 I agree completly with that! will see how improved deffense is in the next two weeks? But I think they are able.
