Boyle County Jr. Lamar Dawson just picked up his 1st offer. He was offered a scholarship by UK yesterday morning. This will be the first of many, and as a UK fan I hope he stays home to help the Wildcats.

As an FSU fan, I think UK would be a better choice, but it wouldn't bother me at all to see a Rebel in Garnet and Gold.:ylsuper:

 

Hey PP92, You live here in Kentucky, went to Bowling Green High School, it's about time you bleed blue (Ky blue) or some other Ky school's color ( I hope not). Enough of the Dukies and the Seminols (sp). You have to agree that Lamar would look better in Ky blue than garnet and red. Still luv ya though, see you at work. Last weekend Lamar Dawson went to Notre Dame on an unofficial visit and got to see the Irish play Southern Cal.

 

This week he got another surprise — a scholarship offer from the University of Kentucky via UK recruiting coordinator Chuck Smith.

 

The Boyle County junior has the size, speed and strength that Boyle coach Larry French says will make him an ideal Division I prospect, and Kentucky decided to be the first school to officially offer him a scholarship. That made an impression on the 6-2, 230-pound Dawson as it has other recruits in recent years.

 

“I was surprised when the offer came. I thought they were going to wait until later in the season. I was surprised, but I am happy about it,” Dawson, who has a 3.8 grade-point average, said. “Kentucky is a place I like. I am a big fan. It’s the in-state team and I have always liked them. I have been a Kentucky fan for a long time.

I will throw another name in the mix here....Billy Lawson from Bell County....doesn't get the hype or the press but i would put him against anyone at LB

Tossing in a sophomore, Josh Harris of Mason County. Yes, he's a great running back, but he's averaging 10 tackles a game at linebacker plus he has 3 fumble recoveries with 2 returned for touchdowns in 8 games. He hits like a sledge hammer, too. I can hardly wait to see what he'll be like his senior year.
