Boone beat Campbell County last night 34-14. It was tied at half 14-14 but Boone finally kicked it in in the second half.

Boone has Ryle and Cov Cath their last 2 games. I believe they need to beat Cov Cath to make playoffs. I've been told the top 2 teams from each division go to playoffs. Can anyone confirm?

 

Is the Boone vs Ryle game at Boone. I know that most of the Ryle coaches played at Boone many many many many years ago. This is one game they get fired up over. But I guess any thing that Ryle vs Boone a lot of people get fired up!!! :taz:

It looks like the playoffs could be very good and exciting games in the big schools division. Ryle appears to be the team to beat with Simon Kenton, Cov Cath, Highlands and maybe Boone all pretty evenly matched. One of those last 4 isn't going to get into the playoffs as they are described above.

It really wasn't that big of a test for the Freshman Jags. Cooper came out flat with it being the first game, but picked it up late in the 1st quarter and early in the 2nd. I think the halftime score was somewhere near 30-7.

 

Below is a game summary of Cooper vs. NCC that I found in another thread. Based on this summary, I would say there was a bit of a challenge for Cooper from NCC before Cooper pulled away in the second half:

 

A very good first half as the score was 12-8 Cooper. The young Jags had some nervousness to work out as they did not have any scrimmages before this game due to the Varsity having scrimmages against schools with no Freshman teams.

 

NCC played hard and #32 ran very well. He broke one for over 70 yards for a TD in the first half. The Jags came out in the second half and settled down and had there way for the most part. NCC's line dominated the first half and Cooper's seemed to handle the second half. Very nice play by Cooper's QB, Tyler Morris who can run and throw. The ball was spread around to several backs who had nice runs.

 

NCC's second score came in the fourth when Cooper put in their second's and NCC drove down the field. Both teams played hard and good luck to NCC in their future games.

Just talked to a couple of Cooper dads and their boys didn't feel all to well this morning. I hope they didn't get the bug before tonights game. Cooper had over 80 kids out yesterday so whatever Ryle had may be coming our way.:irked:

Why did they set it up like this? Shouldn't the #1 seed from a division be playing the #4 seed from the other division, and so on?
