Will things get better for Paducah Tilghman?

Featured Replies

The season seems to get worse and worse for the Blue Tornado. There's no shame in losing to Ft Campbell, but 53-7 for a proud program like PTHS is unfathomable. 2-5 Calloway Co. is the foe this Friday. Mayfield is a common opponent that beat Calloway 50-33 and Tilghman 21-12. Tilghman's only win came against a St Louis school that seemed less than remarkable. After Calloway they have their district foes McClean, Webster and Union (not necessarily in that order). They end the season against Holy Cross. Do they have a chance against Calloway with Willis. Will they win 5 games this year? 3? 0? Their only salvation would appear to be the weakness of their district. :idunno:

It doesn't look like it will. I thought that Coach Wyatt would get things turned around but now I don't know.

I think PT could actually win thier district, JMO.

Given the 3A alignment, Tilghman should be in the state semifinals every year. There is no reason for this team to be 1-4. Fort Campbell, they weren't going to beat, but they should have knocked off Hopkinsville and Graves County. You can also make the argument that they have more speed, athletes and talent than Mayfield.

I agree they could win their district. Union Co. is their only competition.

A healthy Union County beats them.

After seeing Tilghman against Mayfield a few weeks ago I would agree they still have the speed and do have enough talent to have a much better record than what they do...what they don't have for some reason is heart and determination. Whether that comes from the top down with Coach Wyatt...or whether or not the team is still divided after the way Coach Wyatt was hired with no interview process or other coaches being interviewed after Coach Thomas left this Tilghman team will not go very far until they can find a way to come together.

On another note...the Tilghman coaching staff has to find what type of personality this team should have as they are still searching. Also looks like they need to find better ways to get the ball to their playmakers as one thing we noticed is the lack of use with the Forrest kid at WR...you have a 6'4" fast receiver that can jump out of the gym and you only use him once or twice on just go patterns is not the best way to use a type of weapon such as Forrest. The QB Cox has a nice arm...Edmonds is a tough back, and the Brown kid is a nice weapon at either RB or WR....they just need to find a way to get some type of chemistry and like playing with each other. If they can do that they should be fine inside their weak district...if they can't...well Tilghman will be the team you look at and shake your head at with all their talent, but could not do anything with it.
