Track the Braves (2nd half- Week 9)

Featured Replies

Well with this season basically over, we can spend the rest of the season seeing how Hudson performs and whether or not that means they'll keep him and probably trade Lowe or try and trade Kawakami.

Here is a list of free agent 1st basemen that will be available this offseason.

Braves start a 3 game series at Houston today with Vazquez taking the mound. Weird thing is that ESPN has the 3rd game of the series labeled as undecided on the Braves pitcher. It should be Hanson but I don't know why he wouldn't start.

Re-signing LaRoche would be great. It would also be nice to get Jason Bay or Holliday or Crawford. I don't see that happening, but hopefully it will.

I wouldn't figure the Braves would shut Hanson down for the season this early but who knows...

Crawford won't be available. One of the Rays' motivations for the Kazmir deal was that it would free up money for Crawford.

True, but stranger things have happened. They have every intention of keeping him, but if they can't get him to stay long term then they should trade him. Also, the trade of Kazmir wasn't solely for Crawford, it was for the whole core of players/pitchers on the team.

For me I'd love for the Braves to do what it takes, if they can't resign LaRoche, to go out and get Adrian Gonzalez from the Padres.

I'm sure the Tampa Bay management knows what their options are. Losing Crawford to free agency would also net them two first-round draft picks, and as long as the Rays are trying to win next year, Crawford fits into their plans.

Also, the trade of Kazmir wasn't solely for Crawford, it was for the whole core of players/pitchers on the team.
I didn't say it was solely because of Crawford.

Braves win tonight, too little too late most likely.

Bobby Cox's stupid decision making is going to cost the Braves the win tonight.

Hanson was pitching a 5 hit, complete game shutout into the 9th and Cox replaces him in the bottom of the 9th with Soriano. The bases are now loaded with 1 out for Tejada. I can't stand Bobby Cox sometimes.

I was right. Tejada singles and drives in 2 runs for the win. Cox is an idiot. I don't know why I watch this team anymore.

What was Hanson's pitch count?

What was Hanson's pitch count?

I agree, that is a strange move.
