September 3, 200917 yr :lol:I'll survive, and I'm sure someone else will see it as an opportunity to enter the luxurious life of an international drug trafficker. But how can you be an international drug trafficker if there is no product?
September 3, 200917 yr Now there is an unintended consequence I hadn't thought of. If the price of heroin skyrockets then we will see an increase of crime by heroin-starved-junkies here at home (or so I've been told). There is a downside on the legal drug end of the spectrum. Most prescription pain killers are all derived from opium. Morphine, codeine, hydrcodone, oxycodone and so on. That would be problematic, but maybe it would lower the number of drug seekers coming into the pharmacy.
September 3, 200917 yr But how can you be an international drug trafficker if there is no product? It can be grown in more than one location, that's just one of the more prominent area's, one in which it's profits are known to fund terrorist organizations, that's what I was getting at.

Traffic is heavy worldwide, with the biggest producer being Afghanistan.[25] According to U.N. sponsored survey,[26] as of 2004[update], Afghanistan accounted for production of 87 percent of the world's heroin.[27] It would take a long time to replace 87% of the world wide production, which would cause the prices to skyrocket. And as Pep pointed out...most prescription pain killers are also derived from Opium. Disclaimer: I know Wikipedia is a horrible source...but I'm at work.
September 3, 200917 yr Look at opium rather than heroin, Afghanistan doesn't supply most of the legal opium that is used for pharmaceutical purposes. I could care less about heroin users. We can strap them to the bombs we drop for all I care.
September 3, 200917 yr As long as it is cost-effective I am all for it. As you no doubt have seen in my prior explanations of the G-Bomb, it's the most cost-effective form of ordnance we could ever dream of coming up with! Plus, it would help the environment (well, in the US, anyway), allowing us to dramatically reduce the amount of landfill space we require.
September 3, 200917 yr I've been saying it for years: If there ever was a place that begged to have the G-Bomb dropped on it, it's Afghanistan. Since you hard-core right-wingers don't give a rat's patootie what the rest of the world thinks about the US, surely you can get behind my idea of out-crazying the crazies, right? Obama would say he is sorry for what the US did and make it all better.:puke:

September 3, 200917 yr You can't forget that we now have a surplus of "clunkers" coming in to... Exactly. Imagine the savings in defense budget! (But I will confess that the sight of a '60s-era Cadillac falling out of the sky would be far more intimidating than an SUV. )
