Who is everybodys top 5 best hitters for next year?

1.) Hunter Jones

You all can talk about 2-5

Hunter Jones will definitely be one of the best bats next year in Kentucky but its hard to justify as to who exactly is the best because not everyone gets to see everybody bat and also the quality of teams they are playing against needs to come into account as well. However, with that being said, I am well aware of the summer organization that Jones is apart of so I know he is a great hitter.

If you are talking about a pure hitter, than Jones will be hard to beat, but I love watching the Dunaway kid from Boone County swing the bat. Don't know for whom he played for this summer, but the kid sure impressed the heck out of me with a bat in his hand last year!

No one. He's still having some issues with his elbow and will require some more therapy to hopefully get it healed enough for next year. You're right, he's a very nice hitter.

What grade is he in? I know all about throwing elbows and it is no fun to watch kids struggle with this issue. It's amazing how much better they play when healthy.

I agree. Batted .469 in the 11th region last year. Already committed to UK and just really hard to get out.

Smith is a tough Left Handed stick, and his batting avg as a Jr was impressive, but I don't think he was seeing the type of pitching that Riddle (or Jones) saw last season.

Excellent point. "Batting averages" are very relative to the type of pitching faced. This is true in Kentucky. But also, position players in this part of the country have a lot harder time getting looks, partly because the type of pitching that batters face in Florida, California, and Texas is much tougher.

He palyed for KBA this summer and was one of the top hitters on that team as well. I know he saw better pitching during the summer.

Watched Smith at the Jr. All Star game and the Cinny Flames tournment this past summer just wear the ball out, hitting it with power to all parts of the field. I think Riddle and Smith will playing together this fall down in Jupiter Fla. in the WWBA World Championship.
