August 5, 200917 yr Sacred is a term that is over used in my opinion. I think that the best advice is to live your life as if you were walking with Jesus. I realize He is with us always but to worry about is this place or object "Holy" or "Sacred" is a trouble to the mind we do not need. Life as a human is complicated enough without worrying about the small stuff. Live as if you were walking and talking with Jesus and treat His house as you would your own and everything will work itself out. Christianity is an individual walk and your own conscious will dictate to you what is right and wrong for you, along with the scriptures. If your conscious says do not do it and you STILL do it, then it is wrong and you have to answer for that. Try and keep things simple.

Our church includes a family life center where we have all-nighters, outreach activities, Upward basketball games, birthday parties, etc, etc, etc. Are you meaning the sanctuary where services occur? If so, does just part of the building then is deemed holy where the family life center (gym) wouldn't be? How about Toddler Village where the kids stay during worship services and eat animal crackers and go down slides?

In the Gospels it talks about the Feast we will have in Heaven (I would assume that we would agree Heaven is a pretty holy place) and it says that God will be our waiter and SERVE us food.

The ACTS church, the first church, held services in people's homes. Are you saying that those people should have then refrained from eating in their own homes? Southeast in Louisville which now has 17,000 in attendance on the weekends started in the basement of someone's house. Should those people have refrained from eating in the own house because they had a church service in their basement on Sunday morning? Or was God not there and the basement was not a holy place on Sunday mornings? I appreciate your zeal and could easily get behind you on this point. But my emphasis here is that our lives as Christians and the holiness of it is what we do 24/7 and not during the hour or two we are in a building on Sunday morning or Wednesday night.

I am the LORD" (Lev. 19:30, 26:2) Many Catholic churches have all sorts of celebrations in the church hall, such as wedding receptions.

The Church is a sacred place and is not to be used for anything against the Lord. Fighting, stealing, and acts of sexual nature are not for the Church because I do believe those are disrespectful to the Lord, but they are disrespectful anywhere. Dancing, celebrating, and singing in the appropriate manner are perfectly respectful. There is a fine line, but you just have to choose for yourself where that line is. The Church is sacred, but the Lord wants us to celebrate him in his glory.
