I didn't blow off anything. I said it's over stated.

I said blow off as insignificant. Wouldn't that be the same as over stated?

OK how's this...

Other then home runs and recovery time PED's do nothing to gain advantage in the game of baseball. This not to say that HR's and recovery time is not beneficial to a team to a point all be it a small one.

We'll just have to disagree on the bolded. If these things were that small they wouldn't be doing it.

They do it for the $$$, plain and simple.

Bull. Do you think any supplement makes that big of a difference? Heck no but it's still a multi billion dollar industry. I think PED's would make a huge impact in football and even basketball. But I'm just not buying the case in baseball.

I would actually be ok if they allowed PED's of all shapes and sizes.

We agree.

So Roger Clemens would've remained dominant into his 40's without PED's?

So 35 was Mark McGwire's prime?

So 37 was Barry Bonds' prime?

Funny, because everyone says late 20's-30 is their prime.

Knee jerk reaction to your statement is that you don't know anything about baseball, but I know better than that.

What is so wrong with these cases? It provided for better entertainment which is essentially what the MLB is.

Athletes are going to constantly push the boundaries and use supplements to make themselves better. If you follow the supplement game you will notice that what is legal today will be illegal tomorrow, so what really is the point of it all, besides making ourselves feel good on our moral high horse. They are still competeting to win and PED's aren't "fixing" the outcome of the game.

Stephen Colbert said, "Since sports exist for our entertainment, aren't performance-enhancing drugs merely entertainment-enhancing drugs?"

You mean besides the illegal part?

I guess I care too much about the game and would like to see it's tradition and records respected. Apparently that's too much to ask. And who are we to bring morals into the equation.

A lot of the banned substances aren't illegal and like I said, follow the supplement game and you will see that what's legal today will be illegal tomorrow.

Let's not try to bring morals into baseball, MANY of our favorite athletes are very immoral. Even common acts in baseball such as trying to steal another teams signs or leveling a catcher at the plate are immoral acts to many.

How did Nolan Ryan do in his 40's? How was Randy Johnson doing? Did they both take PED's? And last time I checked Clemens never tested positive for PED's.

How many titles does McGwire have? What about Bonds? So other then inflating their HR numbers what did PED's do for them?

Give me a break. Baseball purist need to climb down off their high horse. Everyone laughs when a pitcher gets caught doctoring a ball or a hitter gets caught with corked bat. These acts are no less cheating then using PED's yet no one has a problem letting these players in. What about the huge use of amphetamines in the 70's and 80's? Do think Aaron never grabbed a hand full of greenies before taking the field?
