Who are the qualifying teams?

 

In District 1, Paducah is already qualified as the host team and is in the district finals. Mayfield and Lyon County play today for the other state tournament spot.

Danville is in. The other from that Dist. will be Shelbyville or Oldham Co. They both play today and the winner has to play Danville in the finals.

Ashland defeats Lyon County 5-4. Peyton Martin and Jeremy Barr, hit HR's. Ryan Workman pitched.

 

Play the winner of Shelbyville vs Owensboro, at 4:30pm Wednesday.

Metcalfe County defeated Danville, along with Shelbyville defeating Owensboro. Paducah advanced without playing.

Paducah def. Morehead via forfeit ... Morehead didn't have enough players to make the trip, I'm told.

After an hour-long rain delay, Ashland leads Shelbyville 8-7 after 8 innings ... I will update.

Shelbyville scored three in the top of the ninth, now leads 10-8.

Shelbyville wins 10-8 ... Ashland had a hit batsman and a double to the wall to start the ninth, but the runner made a poor decision to go home and was thrown out by a mile. The rally died from there.

The runner didn't make a poor decision, the coach did. The coach sent him, he didn't just run. Ashland would have had its hottest hitter coming to the plate with the tying run in scoring position, but the poor decision really cost them.

Paducah beat Metcalfe County 12-1 in six innings, blowing the game open by scoring 10 runs in the first inning. Both coaches agreed to declare the game over while in a rain delay.
