Tog you refer to the Big East as a baseball mecca! I think you may be confused between college baseball and football which does have conferences that are a part of the BCS.College baseball doesn't!

CS Fullerton,UC Irvine,Coastal Carolina,Witchita State,Elon,Oral Roberts,Rice and East Carolina are all college baseball powerhouses every year. The BCS has nothing to do with baseball or the quality of the baseball programs!WKU was in the 64 team field and Coach Finnwood has a quality program! Louisville was the only team from the Big East to make the 64 team field.

As for Perkins he was a kid that was highly recruited and signed early with WKU and also recieved alot of attention from pro scouts. Probably a 100% kid that will have an impact on their starting rotation as a freshman next year.IMO he is the best pitcher in the state!

No problem with your opinion as I have mine too, but have you seen Isler throw? Have you seen Thompson throw? Remember, I have seen all three throw and I put Thompson and Isler ahead of Perkins! Now understand there in nothing wrong in being anywhere in that group of threee young men but unless you tell me you have seen all three throw, well.....then......:idunno:

Yes,yes and yes! I like all three but Perkins is the better between the three!Perkins was highly recruited and would of went in the top ten rounds of the MLB draft (wanted too much $) He stayes in the low 90s (not hits it every once in a while)

I hope all have great college careers but the Rockcastle kid is better!

lol..the classic "he would have went in the top 10 but he wanted too much money". I have not seen Perkins, so i won't cast judgement on if the other two are better, but Isler and the kid at Franklin Co. were the most impressive I saw as well this year.

And for the record, I have seen/heard of a lot of ball players across the state and I'd never heard of Perkins, so probably you should relax and be happy with someone saying he is one of the best 3 or so that he has seen.

The 13th was not that strong this year. Possibly the most talented player in the region did not get an invite.

13th was not strong? Well there wasn't a clear cut favorite to win the regional tournament and the team that did win, went on to win their sectional series in two games. That's fairly strong.

Who was the most talented player in the region in your opinion?

Rakestraw from South Laurel is at least in the top two, maybe the most talented.

The kid from N.L. must of had a pretty good year. He had a great day in the Jr. All Star game hitting a ball off the right center field fence for a triple and stealing two bases off the kid from Ballard along with throwing a kid out at the plate. I understand he also plays for the KBC this summer. The region must of had a little talent.
