June 5, 200917 yr 1. MJ 2. Big O- Didn't he average a triple double one season? 3. Russell 4. Magic 5. Chamberlin 6. Bird 7. Abdul-Jabbar 8. Jerry West 9. Duncan 10. Pistol Pete I would argue that Kobe belongs on this list, but at the same time Shaq HAS to be on this list somewhere also.....and Kareem should be higher.
June 5, 200917 yr Author No doubt, you know I just like to use Kobe as an example. When MJ came into the league is when the "change in the type of player" took place in the NBA. Very true. I think LeBron will change the type of players that come into the league for the upcoming era. I think Basketball will eventually be played by teams that have 5 guys that are 6-6 to 6-10 and can play 1-5. That may be 30 years from now, but it is coming. Guards are getting bigger and bigs are getting smaller.

June 5, 200917 yr Author Who do you replace Kobe and Shaq for.. I can see Kobe but not Shaq... No love for Shaq? I think he is one of the most underrated players in NBA history actually. He will never get the love of Russell or Wilt, but he is in their class. He was the most dominant player of this era. I think Jordan's Bulls would have had alot of trouble with those Laker teams because Shaq couldn't be stopped....well unless you put him at the line. I'm kind of neutral though. I wouldn't be mad if someone put Shaq as high as number two and I wouldn't be mad if they had him in the 10-15 range either. He is a hard player to evaluate because few players in history could match his strength and brute force. Look at Howard today, he is a phyical specimen, but he wouldn't even be able to handle the Deisel.
