Bledsoe’s coach concerned about playing time at UK

Featured Replies

Bledsoe is not a combo guard, and neither is Wall. With that said Wall is getting 30+ minutes a game from day 1. Add Meeks and his 30+ minutes. Any way you slice it, there isn't a lot of time available for Bledsoe...

My thoughts exactly. When I knew that UK has signed both players, I immediately thought of Willie Kemp. I think that may be a reality for Bledsoe.

Seriously, they had to know going in if Wall committed, PT would be scarce in year 1.

You would think.

Bledsoe might be on the bench next year with if UK gets Brandon Knight too. Maybe Bledsoe will show Wall how to work in the weight room. Bledsoe has some guns on him.

Possible. Cal will try to get the best of the best.

With Cal already having Bledsoe(3-4 seasons) as PG, Knight may not be that big of a recruiting priority. He may be looking to use that scholarship someplace else and go for a top PG the following season. This Cal recruiting class is awesome, but I don't expect to get this every season and anyone who thinks different is fooling themselves. I believe Bledsoe will get 12-15 minutes a game. If Meeks is back I don't see Bledsoe starting, but I do see that there could be times that Wall and Bledsoe will be in the game at the same time.

Doubt it, you have to go after the best of the best. Too many scholarships to fill next year to not get a PG if you can get an elite one.

Bledsoe we get 15-19 mins a game.

I don't think he will.

He could out play Wall, who really knows.

I don't think he will.

Guys, this is the reality now. Cal's recruiting mixed with UK's prestige means that alot of really good players will sign here. Some may never get alot of playing time, that may be fine but some will transfer. Who knows Bledsoe may surprise a few of us, but I don't see him taking time from Wall. Wall will be at around 30 mins a game, and Bledsoe most likely under 10 mins. a game.

His coach was asked a question and answered it. I've interviewed Ford before, and he's not exactly a delight to talk to...
When Bledsoe signed, do you think he did so under the impression Wall wasn't coming? Or is this more of a situation of UK/Cal is where he wanted to be and he didn't give a darn who else was coming?

He was well aware that there was a good chance Wall would pick UK...

Bledsoe said at his press conference that it did not bother him if Wall came to KY. He knew there was that chance.

Eric Bledsoe Press Conference per Wireman

Eric Bledsoe is a Kentucky Wildcat.

Press Conference Notes:

- John Wall did not factor into the decision

- Calipari told him he will be able to start

- He points out that Memphis was going after John Wall, too

- He likes Lexington

- Did Bledsoe just say that Patterson is coming back?

- Says he and John Wall can play together
