If he had wanted Davis on the roster, he would've been on it the whole year. And the other guys I mentioned could've seen more time, too.

So ... basically, Rose and the Reds may have sacrificed a realistic shot at a divisional title so that he could indulge his ego and break Cobb's hitting record.
May 14, 200917 yr You arguing the last 130 hits of a guy who already had over 4,000 is extremely weak.I'm not saying the guy wasn't a great player. I'm saying he sacrificed what was best for the team in 1985 to chase down a personal goal.
