If the Cards don't make a run at the playoffs it will be because of the bullpen. Same as last year. They set a record for most blown saves last year and the pen has lost at least 4 of the games this year. I am more of the long-term fan, I don't get too upset over a loss in baseball but you can't be giving games away.

The starting pitching is over performing right now, how long can that last? Piniero is playing well above his head. They can't rely on the hitters to score 8 runs a game every game.

He is pitching to contact and using his two seam very well. I think he can keep it up if he just pitches to contact.

May 2, 200917 yr Author The Cards loose to the Nationals today 6-1. An error by Chris Duncan, who was filling in for Albert Pujols, lead to 3 unearned runs in the 5th inning. Pujols was given the day off. Colby Rasmus hit his first home run today.
