 I just want to know why someone would throw a first pitch fastball right down the middle to Albert Pujols??

Thom Brennaman was talking about same thing. Why throw breaking balls to the batter before Albert and walk him to load the bases then you throw a first pitch fastball down the middle to Pujols? :idunno:

The Cubs won the final game of the the weekend series today 10-3.

As hot as the Cards have been, I'm just glad we didn't get swept. We have to get rid of Cotts and get healthy

Pujols walked three times today. He grounded out into a double play to end the game. Ludwick was 0-4.

ST. LOUIS -- Todd Wellemeyer gave up six runs in five innings including three in the top of the first as the Cardinals trailed throughout and lost to the Cubs, 10-3, on Sunday afternoon at Busch Stadium.

The loss ended the Cardinals' nine-game home winning streak, which had been their longest since 1968.

Wellemeyer labored through five innings, needing 103 pitches to get 15 outs. After giving up three runs in the first on four straight hits to start the game, Wellemeyer walked in a run in the second. The right-hander retired the Cubs in order in the third before a throwing error by shortstop Khalil Greene and a single by Kosuke Fukudome made it 5-1.

Greene's error was the Cards' Major League-leading 20th error of the season in 19 games.

Errors have killed the Cards this year which isn't like them at all. Wellemeyer has not pitched well at all. They said on WGN that lefties had a .400 average and righties have around .350(somewhere around that #) average against him. He really needs to get back on track.
