I have a funny feeling that if we lose against Russell tonight on our field it will be in there tomorrow. Ok do not shoot me thats just how I feel.

Shawn Reynolds has been hitting extremely well he has a 15 game hitting streak and is 22 for 48 for a .458 batting average.

On a side note and about hittters at Raceland in the past........I don't know if any or how many BGP Raceland fans are aware of it or not but BGP member cvillecat when at Raceland in the early - mid 70's had a four year high school carrer batting average of .575 (also, all wooden bat hits, no aluminum bats where the ball jumps off of them so well)! I believe that (.575) is still a four year record at Raceland. Cville is still the best hitter that I have ever seen come through Raceland (or anywhere in this area for that matter)and I have seen some very good ones in Ram Land.............Bob Owsley, Claude Campbell, Bob Trimble, Michael Hunt, Chris Vandergriff, Thomas Tolliver just to name a very few of many good baseball players/hitters at Raceland.

Sorry to get off topic but I just wanted to give a great friend and former Raceland classmate some props.

Shawn's hit streak stayed intact reached 16 games tonite. Hit the ball well but was 1-5. Makes him 23 for 53 and a .433 batting avg now still not to shabby. Would have loved to been able to see cvillecat hit .575 avg is just plain out of this world.

BC, I am not just saying that bc we are the best of friends. Cville was an unbelievable hitter, (that .575 avg. was legit and a combined 4 year average) seemed like everything that he hit was on a line shot. I know when different ones were chasing some of the different Raceland hitting/batting records they were all cvilles records they were chasing.

No problem brewcrew, I didn't take it like that at all. I was just giving cville some well desreved props. I believe that Reynolds, Carver and others through the years are/were very good baseball players as well.

Cvillecat is an exceptional fellow. Not only was he one of the best baseball players, his son was excellent in sports and he is a true supporter of these kids. More than once he has come out after his son graduated just to support these boys. I think we should toot his horn.
